Kingsford,MI– January 5, 2023 – Marquette travels to Kingsford for a big offensive match-up live Foxsports 105.1-99.9!
Q1: Kingsford would win the tip to start the game. Kingsford would answer with an easy shot. The Redmen would get the ball and try to answer back but would turn the ball over. Marquette would cause Kingsford to turn the ball over. Marquette would turn the ball right back over and Kingsford would take a 6 point lead. Wyatt Lakenen would drain a 3 to get Marquette on the board. Lakenen would make another 3 to tie the game for the Redmen. Nic Nora would drain a mid rand shot to take the lead back for Kingsford. Marquette would score quick to tie the game back up. Nora would get fouled on the shot and would make the free throw. Marquette would hold on to the ball for the last shot but would miss and that would end the quarter.

Q2: Marquette would get the ball to start the quarter but the Redmen would turn the ball over. A jump ball would be called so it would go to Kingsford but then then another jump ball would get called and Marquette would get the ball back. Marquette would get called for a traveling call. Kingsford would turn the ball back and Jacob Macphee would score off the turn over. Gavin Grondin would score off a Marquette turnover. Jaxon Jurmu would then score easily off the in bound. Nora would then get fouled and would go to the line and would go 1 for 2 from the line. That would put Marquette down by 4. Jurmu would get fouled on the lay up, making the bucket but would miss the free throw. Jack Quinnell would get the rebound off the free throw and would make the shot off the rebound. Cardell Martin would drain a 3 for Kingsford. Jurmu would get fouled but would miss the free throw. Marquette and Kingsford would turn the ball over back and fourth for a couple of possessions then the Redmen would finally score. Nora would score on an easy layup. Cole Myllyla would get fouled on his shot and would make both of his free throws. Nora then would head to the line and would miss both shots but Kingsford would get the rebound and make the put back. Pete Closner would head to the line and would go 1 for 2 from the line.

Q3: Kingsford would get the ball to start the second half. Nora would score almost immediately to start. Kyler Sager would score right back for the Redmen. Gavin Grondin would get fouled to go to the line and would miss both shots. Quinnell would then go to the line and would miss both shots. Nora would then get fouled on a 3 point attempt and would go 2 for 3 from the line. Sager would get back to the line and would make both free throws. Sager again would get to the line and go 1 for 2 from the line. Kingsford would then go on a big run to make it an 16-point lead. Jurmu would get to the line off an in bound play and would make both free throws. Kingsford would turn the ball over and Macphee would get the quick basket in transition. Grondin would drain a 3 to make that lead a little bigger for Kingsford. Marquette would hold the ball for the last shot but would not make the shot.

Easton Clements would get the rebound for the Redmen and would score off the second chance points. Quinnell would get fouled and he would make both shot attempts. Lakenen would get the steal but the Redmen would not be able to score off the steal. Nora would go to the line and would go to 1 for 2. Kingsford would get the rebound off the miss attempt and would score. Marquette would turn the ball over but Kingsford would get called for a charge. Marquette would make it an 11-point deficit. Quinell would go to the line and would go 1 for 2 from the line. Nora would miss the shot and Macphee would get fouled on the rebound. Macphee would miss the free throw.
