Marquette, Mi – August 21th, 2026 – Marquette starting point guard, Brody Clements, announced Wednesday night that he has committed to Northern Michigan University where he will continue his basketball career beginning with the 2027-28 season. Clements, who is entering his senior season with the Sentinels, will join the Wildcats under new head coach, Keil Ganz. For Clements, the commitment brings a childhood dream full circle.

In his announcement on social media, Clements shared a photo from his early days playing basketball at the Berry Events Center. Now, that dream of playing for the Wildcats will become a reality just in a different venue.
Clements spent his first two seasons of high school basketball on Marquette’s junior varsity team before making the jump to varsity as a junior. His impact was felt immediately. As a junior, Clements took over the starting point guard role and quickly established himself as one of the Sentinels’ key players. He averaged 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists per game, while leading Marquette to an 18-8 record. The Sentinels captured the Division 1-District 1 Championship and continued their postseason run with a regional semifinal victory over Mount Pleasant. Their season ultimately came to an end against eventual state champion, Rockford.
While Clements has made his biggest impact on the basketball court, local sports fans may also recognize his name from the football field. This past fall, Clements, a wide receiver for the Sentinels, scored his first varsity touchdown in spectacular fashion. In a matchup against Alpena, Marquette quarterback Ford Richardson found himself with a one-on-one opportunity for Clements against an Alpena defensive back. Richardson trusted his receiver to make a play, and Clements delivered. Showing tremendous body control, Clements went up and made an incredible one-handed catch before coming down in the corner of the end zone. It took the officials a moment to determine whether he had managed to come down in bounds, but once the touchdown was confirmed, the Marquette sideline and crowd erupted. For his first varsity touchdown, it was about as memorable as it gets.
