Raymond Brice, who grew up in Houghton, MI, learned to skate at a young age from his father. He excelled in hockey, going on to play at Michigan Tech and at the professional level. After his playing career, Brice began coaching and started Brice Academy to provide children in the U.P. development opportunities he didn’t have growing up.
During the second half of our show, Danielle Dickson joined us for a great discussion about figure skating. She is both a Marquette High School and a local figure skating coach. Tyler and I learned a lot talking with her, and I encourage listeners to tune in if they’re unfamiliar with the sport.
Next Tuesday, we’ll be joined by Dondre Yohe who coaches the junior varsity basketball at Ishpeming. During the summer, he also helps umpire baseball. Dondre played four years of basketball at Ishpeming before continuing his athletic career at Bay Community College.
