
First Half: Marquette started off red hot with matching three point shots by Justin Jurmu and Kameron Karp to give the Redmen a quick six point lead. That would start of an 18-0 run that the Gremlins wouldn’t end until 2:30 left in the first with a pair of free throws. Kameron Karp would keep the pace up with another 3-pointer followed with a DeMay lay-up bringing the score to 23-2. Houghton was able to put up one more shot before ending the first quarter with a score of, 26-4.
Marquette opened up the second quarter with a Connor Johnson 3-pointer, but Houghton was able to respond with a three of their own by Brandon Kieranen. With the commanding lead Marquette was able to empty their bench and spread around the playing time. Owen Beauchamp was able to work his way to the basket in the paint with the assist from Seager for the Redmen. The Redmen then headed for the skies as Kam Karp lobbed up a pass to Ty Lotterman who threw down the dunk.

Houghton was however able to close out the half strong with a buzzer beater by Dylan Primeau, and closing out the half with the score sitting at 33-11 in favor of the Redmen.
Halftime: 33-11
Second Half: Marquette did not let up at all coming out of the break. The Redmen attacked the basket and Ty Lotterman was able to sink the put back basket and built on to their already steep lead. Houghton was able to show life with Tucker Ryynanen and Brandon Kieranen landing shots from behind the arc bringing the score to, 42-17 to the Redmen. Kam Karp then showed everyone he also plays great defense. He had back to back steals for easy lay-ups and was able to pad their lead to, 54-19.

The fourth and final quarter started with running time just out of reach. That was until Connor Johnson sank a 3-pointer to give the Redmen a 40 point lead, 61-21. Houghton would never really make any real comeback, and the Redmen would send them home with a 46 point loss.
