Marquette, MI – August 11, 2020 – It was a news-filled day on the Sports Drive. 20 minutes before going on-air, the Big Ten announced the cancellation of all fall sports, including football. The news didn’t come as much of a shock, but as a disappointment to Luke and Tyler. What may be some ripple effects from the decision?
The Ishpeming Hematites held a board meeting Monday night to determine to 2020 football season, with a couple of options on the table due to low numbers. It was voted to have both varsity and JV football, with a number of sophomores moving up to play varsity. Ishpeming AD Terry Roberts joined the program to discuss the decision.
