Marquette, MI – March 1, 2019 – The Northern Michigan University Men’s hockey team takes on Michigan Tech in a home-and-home two game series beginning tonight in Houghton. The Sports Drive was live from MacInnes Student Ice Arena today to preview the huge weekend.
Dave Ellis was a special guest on the Sports Drive hanging out for the hour.
The Sports Drive previewed the numerous Boys Basketball District Finals all over the U.P. As All-GNC teams were also announced , Luke (Gwinn) and Dave (Calumet) were excited about their alma matters playing in District Championships.
Michigan tech Women’s Basketball took home the GLIAC North Division Championship in Samy Hoyt’s first year as head coach with a 60-55 victory over Northern Michigan University. Mark and Dave were on the call. The Sports Drive recapped the game and looked ahead at two potential rematches in the GLIAC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
The Main Event is the Northern Michigan – Michigan Tech hockey series. It begins tonight in Houghton, and Mark, Dave, and Luke gave a full preview along with a tribute to John MacInnes, the legendary Huskies coach.
