Marquette, MI – 11/1/17 – The Marquette Redette Volleyball team traveled down to Alpena to take on the Petoskey Northman in the District Tournament. The Redettes were defeated in all three sets as the Northmen won 3 sets to zero. Coach Mike Morgan and his team thanked his team for a great years and said goodbye to the Seniors.
The World Series concluded game 6 with a 3-1 victory for the Los Angeles Dodgers, tying the series 3 games to 3. Astros pitcher Justin Verlander allowed just one run over 6 innings of work while striking out 9. The Dodgers were led by pitcher Rich Hill who went 4 2/3 innings and only giving up one run. Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson homered in the seventh to move the Dodgers one game closer to the title. Game 7 will be tonight in Los Angeles with Dodgers Yu Darvish taking the mound against Astros Lance McCullers Jr. Game time will be at 8:20 pm.
The Detroit Red Wings picked up a much needed victory against the NHL’s worst team the Arizona Coyotes 5-3 on Tuesday night. The Red Wings Jimmy Howard made 30 saves and forward Gustav Nyquist scored less than two minutes into the game. Detroit’s Dylan Larkin led the team with a goal and assist. The Red Wings now take to the road for a 4 game Canada trip.
