Marquette, MI – 7/5/17 – Michael Fulmer went eight innings and Victor Martinez went deep as the Detroit Tigers picked up their third win in five tries defeating the San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Tuesday afternoon. Fulmer improved his record to 8-6 on the season and was also named to the AL All-Star team. Victor Martinez connected for a home run in the second inning and then added an RBI in the fourth. Tigers Justin Wilson came in to save the game he has now closed eight times in the nine chances he’s had this season.

The NBA off-season is in full swing with many free agent signings, trades and offer sheets. The Detroit Pistons signed shooting guard Langston Galloway over the weekend to a three year, 21 million dollar contract. This will be Galloway’s fourth team in four years, playing with the Knicks, Pelicans and the Kings. He has averaged 7.9 points per game in 201 games in the NBA.

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Paul George over the weekend. The move was a shock around the NBA as many thought the Thunder weren’t even looking at adding George, but they did. The Thunder sent Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis to the Indiana Pacers for George. George is a four time all-star and has averaged 23.7 points per game in his career.
