Marquette, MI – Michael Fulmer had all of the help he needed as he stepped into the bottom of the second inning with a five run lead. The Detroit Tigers led by Justin Upton earned a victory over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 7-1. Tigers outfielder Justin Upton hit a three run homer and Fulmer struck out seven to improve to 3-0 in his last four starts. The Tigers will continue their weekend series against the Angels tonight at 10:05.
The Milwaukee Brewers two game winning streak come to an end as Mookie Betts put a charge into a fastball in the top half of the ninth inning sending the ball into the seats and three runs crossed the plate as the Red Sox came out victorious over the Brew crew 4-1. Milwaukee closer Neftali Feliz (0-4) came into the ninth and only recorded one out giving up the game winning homer to Betts. Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez struck out five and allowed three hits in six innings in the victory.
Joe Gaffney stopped in to talk playoff hockey and make his predictions as the match-ups for the third round are complete. Joe picked the Anaheim Ducks over the Nashville Predators and the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Ottawa Senators.
