Marquette, Michigan – May 8th, 2017 – The Marquette Redmen Boys Baseball team was at home tonight against the Negaunee Miners. Ryan Ranguette and Luke Ghiardi were there to bring you all the action from the diamond, LIVE on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9FM.
Blake Henriksen was pitching for the Marquette Redmen to start the game, and he was able to keep the Miners from scoring a run, by striking out the first three batters. The Marquette Redmen were not able to capitalize on their defense in the bottom of the first inning, and both teams remained scoreless.
The Marquette Redmen were able to take the lead 1-0 at the bottom of the second inning, after the Negaunee Miners walked 4 batters in a row. The Negaunee Miners pitcher continued to struggle during the second inning and walked in an additional 2 more batters to give the Marquette Redmen a 3-0 lead. The Marquette Redmen ended the second inning leading 4-0 against the Miners, due to another walk.
The Marquette Redmen continued to maintain the lead against the Negaunee Miners in the third inning, and improved their score to 6-0 after Tanner Judd batted in 2 runners. The Marquette Redmen were able to wrap this game up in the fourth inning winning 10-0 against the Negaunee Miners.
