Marquette, MI – The Oakland A’s made out like bandits on Sunday afternoon scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Tigers 8-6. Tigers closer Francisco Rodriguez had a tough weekend blowing Saturday’s game as well. The is now four blown saves on the year for Rodriguez in twelve attempts. Tuesday the Tigers will open up for a three game series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
Eric Thames broke out of the homer slump and knocked one out of the park on Sunday afternoon in a 6-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Travis Shaw and Jesus Aguilar also homered in the victory. Pitcher Zach Davies picked up his third win in three games and the Brewers avoided being swept. Up next for the Brewers will be the Boston Red Sox in a three game series. Wily Peralta will toe the rubber tomorrow night against Boston’s Drew Pomeranz.
