Ryan and Luke get set to call the Redmen game against the Eskymos

Marquette, MI – The Marquette Redmen have got off to a great start in this early baseball season going 2-1. Wednesday afternoon the Redmen traveled to Escanaba to take on the Eskymos. The Redmen came out hot getting a 4-0 lead by the third inning. Marquette pitcher Garret Finkbeiner had a solid outing on the mound giving up only four hits in five innings of work. Redmen outfielder John Thomson added two RBI in the second inning that proved to be the difference maker.

The Detroit Tigers ended up losing a close game last night to the Tampa Bay Rays 8-7 on an error in the ninth. Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias had the opportunity to turn a double play with one out and runners on the corners when he bobbled the throw from Kinsler and threw the ball away past Miguel Cabrera allowing the Rays to score the winning run. The Tigers and Rays will complete their three game series today at 1:10 pm.

Adam Carpenter from 103-FXD “The Outdoor Show” stopped in this morning to talk Tigers baseball and chime in on the NHL playoffs. Adam picked the Washington Capitals to go all the way to the Stanley Cup and are now tied in the best of seven series with the Toronto Maple Leafs at 2-2. We would like to thank Adam for coming on the show this morning.
