Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings have proven that they have had a tough time in the opening period in the past three games. The most recent game with the New Jersey Devils, they gave up two goals in the first five minuted and have been outscored in the first period, 6-0 in the past three games. Tonight the Wings will be at home taking on the New York Islanders at 7:30 pm. The Islanders come in at 22-17-9 on the season while to Red Wings are officially under the .500 mark for the first time since the beginning of the season at 20-21-9.
The Detroit Pistons are coming off a big win over the New Orleans Pelicans 118-98 on Wednesday will look to add to their win streak tonight when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Game time is at 7:30 pm, Pistons Center Andre Drummond and Timberwolves Center Karl Anthony-Towns will be the story of the game with the two best centers in the NBA going head to head.
The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons will face off in the Superbowl this Sunday in Houston. The Falcons defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship while the New England Patriots beat out the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the AFC and head to the Superbowl. The game is going to be a quarterback showdown between Atlanta’s Matt Ryan and New England’s Tom Brady. The game begins at 6:30 pm on Sunday in Houston.
