Marquette, MI – Northern Michigan’s Men and Women’s Head Swimming Coach Heidi Voigt stopped by today to talk about her life as a coach and her team. Heidi is in her seventh season as head coach at Northern and looks for yet another successful year. Coach Voigt was a three time Most Inspirational Swimmer of the Year Award recipient and Captain for University of Washington Huskies while in college. We thank Coach Voigt for stopping by today and talking college swimming.
The Green Bay Packers picked up another big win yesterday as they traveled to Chicago and took on the 3-10 Bears. The Packers had a big lead after the third quarter only to see it falter as the Bears in the closing minutes tied the game with under two minuted to play. Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers led them down the field with under a minute to kick a game winning field goal and stay alive in the playoff race. The Packers are now 8-6 with two games remaining and will take on the Minnesota Vikings next week.
The Detroit Lions came in the New York looking to come out with a win and keep a two game lead in the NFC North. However, Eli Manning and company had other plans as they played the best defense of the season and didn’t need much scoring winning the game 17-6. The Lions fall to 9-5 on the season and play in Dallas against the Cowboys next Monday night.
The Detroit Red Wings are looking to build off of a victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday as they get set to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are riding a home streak high of nine straight games with a point going 8-0-1 in their last nine at home. The Red Wings and Hurricanes drop the puck at 7 pm.
