NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Winning Streak Is Snapped – Play Islanders On Saturday

The Red Wings six game winning streak is over as Detroit lost to the Lightning 5-1 last night in Tampa.

Darren Helm scored the lone goal for the Wings in the first period.

Petr Mrazek was pulled after the second period after he allowed five goals on 15 shots, while Tom McCollum stopped all 17 shots he faced in the third.

With the loss, Detroit slips to second place in the Atlantic Division, one point behind Tampa Bay.

The Red Wings return to Joe Louis Arena to host the New York Islanders tomorrow.
