NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Top The Edmonton Oilers

The Detroit Red Wings snapped their two-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers last night at Joe Louis Arena.

Niklas Kronwall had a power play goal, Riley Sheahan and Teemu Pulkkinen scored at even strength and Justin Abdelkader and Pavel Datsyuk each had an empty-net goal late in the third period.

Jimmy Howard turned aside 36 shots in the win, as the Wings improved to 37-17-and-11.

The Red Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night.
