NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Shut Out The Colorado Avalanche

Petr Mrazek made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season and third of his career, as the Detroit Red Wings blanked the Colorado Avalanche 3-0 at the Pepsi Center last night.

Justin Abdelkader scored a power play goal in the second period and Darren Helm and Luke Glendening both had empty-netters in the final two-plus minutes for Detroit, who have won two in-a-row and eight of their last nine overall.

The Wings continue their three-game road trip tomorrow in Arizona.
