NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Lose In A Shootout

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 last night in a shootout at the Joe Louis Arena.

Gustav Nyquist scored late in the second period to put Detroit ahead 1-0, but Toronto tied the score early in the third to send the game to overtime.

Pavel Datsyuk was the only Red Wings player to score in the shootout, while the Maple Leafs were able to put two pucks behind Jimmy Howard for the win.

Howard stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced in regulation.

The Wings host the Florida Panthers tomorrow night.
