NHL – The Detroit Red Wings Beat The Minnesota Wild In A Shootout

Despite letting a three goal lead slip away in the third period, the Detroit Red Wings came away with a 5-4 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild last night at the Joe Louis Arena.

Teemu Pulkkinen scored the first goal of his NHL career for Detroit, while Jonathan Ericsson, Gustav Nyquist and Xavier Ouellet also scored in regulation.

Pavel Datsyuk and Nyquist scored in the shootout round, while goalie Petr Mrazek stopped both Wild attempts.

The Wings head into the All-Star break with 63 points, one point behind Atlantic Division leader Tampa Bay.

Detroit returns to the ice next Tuesday in Florida, when they face off against the Panthers.
