NCAA Tournament – Region Finals Are Set

The Midwest Region final is set after top overall seed Kentucky dismantled West Virginia, while Notre Dame easily beat Wichita

The Mountaineers’ press was rendered irrelevant because Kentucky (37-0) simply refused to let them score.

West Virginia was limited to 24% shooting and turned the ball over 13 times in the 78-39 rout.

Four Notre Dame players scored in double figures, and a fifth, Wooden Award finalist Jerian Grant, provided 11 assists and nine points in an 81-70 win over the Shockers.

In the West region, Sam Dekker had a career-high 23 points to go with 10 rebounds and Wisconsin advanced to the regional final for a second straight year with a 79-72 win over North Carolina.

The Badgers will meet second-seeded Arizona, who took care of No. 6 Xavier 68-60.

Seven seed Michigan State meets three seed Oklahoma on the court tonight (Fri) in their Sweet 16 matchup at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York.

The Spartans defeated Georgia in the second round and Virginia in the third round, while the Sooners beat Albany and Dayton on the way to tonight’s game.

The winner will advance to the Elite Eight and take on either Louisville or North Carolina State Sunday for a spot in the Final Four.
