NASCAR – Dale Jr. Gets His First Win At Martinsville

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is out of the Chase but did capture his fourth win of the season with his first career victory at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday.

Earnhardt Jr. escaped the caution-filled race and earned his 23rd career checkered flag while teammate and Chaser Jeff Gordon was second after leading a race-high 130 laps.

Chase participant Ryan Newman was third while Tony Stewart finished fourth.

Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth ran fifth and sixth to help their causes in the Chase.

Carl Edwards had a 20th-place finish while Brad Keselowski was 21st and Kevin Harvick ended 33rd.

The Chase heads to Texas next weekend for the second of three races in the Eliminator Round.
