Redmen Football, Wolverines Beat Bearcats, Lions and Packers

Marquette, MI – 9/11/17 – The Marquette Redmen found a groove on Friday night as they took down Great Northern Conference opponent Sault Ste Marie 31-7. The Redmen were led by running back Andrew Gale who ran for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Redmen quarterback Brendan Kaski is settling in quite well going 7-11 for 75 yards and targeted three different receivers. The Redmen defense was anchored by senior Greyson Anthos who ended up with 8 tackles followed by Austyn Tabbert with 6. The Redmen look to pick up another victory this Friday as they take on the Escanaba Eskymos in Escanaba.

The Michigan Wolverines had help from Ty Issac and the Wolverine defense to come away with a 36-14 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats at the Big House. Running back Ty Issac ran for 133 yards while Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight three for 221 yards and two touchdowns. The Wolverines will now get a chance to work out all the kinks they’ve show in the first two weeks as they welcome in Air Force on Saturday afternoon.

The Detroit Lions defeated the Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday 35-23 on the arm of Matthew Stafford who threw for 4 touchdowns on 292 yards of passing. The Lions will visit the New York Giants next Monday night at 8:30 pm.

The Green Bay Packers didn’t disappoint in their home opener on Sunday defeating the Seattle Seahawks 17-9. Aaron Rodgers found Jordy Nelson in the end-zone on a 32 yard pass to seal the victory. Seattle managed only three field goals and the Packers managed the clock, possessing the ball for 39 minutes. The Packers now look to next Sunday night as they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta.
