Kansas Has A New King

Rock. Chalk. Shockers. Kansas just got their nose broken by their so-called little brothers. And this is why KU has never wanted anything to do with Wichita State.

Because the Jayhawks claim they have nothing to gain and because they know the Shockers have nasty, nasty game.

Watching yesterday had me wondering – exactly who was the little brother? Because the dudes in the black and yellow got double figures from all five starters. Big brother found himself getting bullied into a full nelson with his head held underwater. They out worked them. Out rebounded them. Out d’d them. Ko’d them.

Yeah – if you can’t even stay within single digits of the team you’ve dodged for over 20 years, you can’t claim alpha status in the state.

Buckeye football doesn’t lose to Dayton. Hawkeye wrestling doesn’t lose to Drake. But Jayhawk basketball just got worked by Wichita State. Yeah that’s not gonna play real well in Lawrence.

But they’re geeking in the streets of Wichita. Because Kansas has a new king. And KU now has a new reason not to play them – they can’t beat ‘em. Nothing to gain? Nothing to offer. Shockers head coach Gregg Marshall says he’s just fine letting the series lay the way it is right now. So is Kansas, coach.

The Wich wants a national title, but they can already claim state champs. Hail the new big brother. Gregg Marshall for Governor.
