Antonio Brown on Le’Veon Bell vs. Cleveland: ’30 to 40 carries if needed’

Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell claims he is ready for a full work load this Sunday as the team kick-offs its 2017 Season against Cleveland after skipping the team’s entire training camp and preseason. Tuesday on The Jim Rome Show, Bell’s All-Pro teammate Antonio Brown doubled down on Bell’s assessment of being able to maximize his work to full-go right out of the gates.

“He’s in great shape. He’s a highly conditioned athlete,” Brown said on CBS Sports Radio. “We pride ourselves in being in great shape, and we know physical condition proceeds anything.

“[He] hasn’t missed a beat. I’m looking for him to do well. I’m counting on him to be able to carry the work load 30 to 40 carries if needed. I count on him to be exciting, his usual stuff he provides to us every time he’s in the stadium.”

According to Brown, two-time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger is playing as good as he’s ever seen him play. The wideout said the 35-year-old quarterback’s motivation and sense of urgency to win this season is extremely apparent.

“He’s like a general. First day of meetings yesterday, he got up, giving speeches already, letting guys know the urgency of the moment,” Brown said. “Letting guys know the commitment that we have to make upon ourselves. Letting guys know the goal for the offense. Letting guys know the goals for the team. I just see a guy’s who’s on a mission.

“A guy who a lot of people may thought who was going to retire or was going to walk away, and I see a guy that is reacquainted with his goals and his vision. He is like a sniper back there delivering the ball, making the checks putting us in the best position to win football games, and man, I’m just excited I get the chance to watch him every day, be in the huddle with him, to play with him, and to be a part of his journey.”
